Location:Gènova is a western district of Palma on the MA 1 Palma - Peguera - Andratx motorway, 2 km inland from Sant Agusti and Cala Mayor at the foot of the Serra de na Burguesa plateau.
Gènova was mentioned in historical records in the 12th and 13th centuries as a center of Jewish cartography. Abraham Cresques had his workshop there. The current parish church of San Salvador was built in 1860[1].
Even then, the small town was a preferred place of residence for the wealthy Palmesans. They later built their weekend homes here. In 2011 the town had 4,103 inhabitants.
