Location:Canyamel is a manageable, quiet coastal town in the east of Mallorca, between Cala Millor and dCala Ratjada and belongs to the municipality of Capdepera. This place also draws on a historical past and takes us back to the 18th century, when sugar cane was still cultivated and that is where the name Canyamel comes from - which in Latin means sugar cane and honey. Spaniards also call it "Caramelo". According to stories one had to defend oneself against pirate attacks like many other towns on Mallorca.
